Keeping you safe with annual gas safety checks
By law, we must carry out an annual gas safety check on all properties with gas appliances. This is to ensure your safety and the safety of your household.
The gas safety check is free and must be carried out every 12 months.
A Gas Safe registered engineer will:

If you miss your gas safety appointment without rescheduling:
Warning: Refusing access for gas safety checks is a breach of your tenancy agreement and could put you and your neighbors at risk.
After the check, the engineer will leave you a copy of the Gas Safety Certificate (CP12).
This certificate confirms that your gas appliances are safe to use.
Please keep this certificate in a safe place.

Carbon monoxide (CO) is a poisonous gas that has no smell, taste, or color. It's produced when gas appliances are not working properly.
We provide carbon monoxide alarms in properties with gas appliances. Please test your alarm regularly and report any faults.

No, the annual gas safety check is free. It's our legal responsibility as your landlord.
Usually 30-60 minutes, depending on the number of gas appliances in your home.
If a problem is found, the engineer will make the appliance safe or disconnect it if necessary. We'll then arrange for repairs to be carried out.
We only check appliances that we own. If you have your own gas cooker or fire, you're responsible for having it serviced by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
